Postpartum is a season no one can fully prepare you for.
It’s tender, emotional, beautiful, and transformative. Your body is healing. Your baby is adjusting. Your world becomes softer, slower, and filled with moments you never want to forget.
In the middle of this transition, many new moms feel the desire to document their baby’s first days but few realize that the photographer you choose becomes part of your postpartum experience.
Their energy enters your home. Their presence shapes your day.
And the way they approach your baby affects how you feel through the entire session.
This is why my work as a newborn photographer is deeply influenced by my postpartum doula training.
Not to provide doula care but to bring a level of understanding and sensitivity that helps new mothers feel seen, supported, and at ease while I photograph their little one.
Let me gently share why that matters.

The first days home with your baby aren’t just about logistics they’re about emotions, connection, tiredness, and adjusting to a new identity.
A postpartum-aware photographer understands:
Your baby isn’t the only one who needs gentleness.
You do too and that matters in your photography experience.
Postpartum doulas observe, protect, and hold space.
Although your session is photography-only, my doula background naturally shapes the way I work:
This isn’t doula care this is simply photography with a deeper level of awareness.
And families feel that difference immediately.

Leaving the house with a newborn can feel overwhelming especially when you’re recovering, adjusting to breastfeeding, or simply exhausted.
In-home newborn photography removes that stress entirely:
You don’t need to tidy, prep, or perform.
You just get to exist with your baby while I work around you.
This is the heart of a postpartum-informed photography experience.
Many moms tell me they felt invisible in those early weeks.
Everything becomes about the baby.
But during your session:
It’s a small but powerful shift that makes your images feel more connected and soulful.

Newborn sessions should feel peaceful, not overwhelming.
A postpartum-informed photographer brings:
Your baby feels this energy too.
A calm atmosphere creates better photos and a better experience for you.
I am a newborn photographer first and foremost.
My role is to create beautiful, meaningful images of your baby and family.
My postpartum training simply enhances the way I approach that work.
You can expect:
You’re not hiring a doula session.
You’re hiring a photographer who brings doula-informed understanding to the way she photographs.
It’s photography, done with heart.
If you’re an expecting mom who values calm energy, safety, and connection…
I would be honored to photograph your family’s first days.
